In a time when Lebanon continues to face ongoing challenges, MEPI Tomorrow’s Leaders students are showing resilience and adaptability as they move forward in their academic and professional journeys.
Sayed Shubbar, a MEPI Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate scholar from Bahrain, has been accepted into the RISE for Collaboration program, a selective initiative that helps researchers transform their academic work into practical solutions that can make a real difference in people’s lives. Being chosen for this competitive program represents another important milestone in his growing academic and professional journey.
The program is designed as a three phase journey that helps participants move from ideas to action. It includes expert panel discussions, a hands-on bootcamp, and mentorship from professionals in both academia and industry. Through this experience, Sayed will learn how to take research beyond theory and develop practical solutions that can make a difference.
“This opportunity means a lot to me,” Sayed shares. “What attracted me most is the focus on making research useful and impactful, not just theoretical.”
In addition to this achievement, Sayed is also part of the INJAZ Lebanon Voice program, which continues to support his personal and professional growth. Being involved in both programs reflects his commitment to learning, collaboration, and building a meaningful path in research and education.
“I am really excited about what I will learn and the people I will meet,” he adds. “It is a chance to grow and to work with others who share the same passion.”
Sayed is working to become someone who can take knowledge and turn it into action, creating solutions that benefit his community and the wider region. Through programs like RISE and INJAZ, he is building the skills, network, and experience needed to become a future leader who bridges the gap between research and real-world impact.
