Rola Madarani: Empowering Communities through the “Free Medical Day Initiative”

Rola Madarani, a distinguished TLS 2021 alum from Lebanon, has emerged as a visionary leader within the Lebanese Medical Student’s International Committee (LeMSIC). Collaborating with a dedicated team, Rola spearheaded the impactful “Free Medical Day” initiative, which successfully launched across ten regions in Lebanon in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health.
The primary objective of this initiative was to provide free healthcare services, raise awareness, and conduct screenings for individuals in need. Rola’s role within the national team involved mentoring, supervising, and supporting local coordinators, ensuring the smooth execution of the campaign.
The “Free Medical Day” initiative achieved remarkable results, serving a staggering total of 3,000 patients who received comprehensive care, including essential laboratory tests. In addition, the campaign featured free consultations provided by doctors specializing in various medical fields.
Rola’s leadership had a profound impact on multiple fronts, with patient admissions expanding to an impressive range of 200 to 400 individuals. This significant increase in access to healthcare and education made a substantial positive contribution to the overall well-being of communities in Lebanon.
