Rima Sfaxi: A MEPI Tomorrow’s Leader Making Her Mark at UNICEF Tunisia

By Raffi Chilingirian | February 27, 2026

Rima Sfaxi, a MEPI Tomorrow’s Leaders alumna (’25) from Tunisia, is already making an impact on the international stage. Shortly after graduating, she joined UNICEF Tunisia Country Office as a Communication Assistant, stepping into a professional environment where international priorities meet local realities and where young voices can have the chance to make a change.

From her first days at La Maison Bleue, the United Nations headquarters in Tunisia, Rima felt the responsibility that comes with working in diplomacy and development. “You immediately realize that this is a place where ideas matter,” she reflects. “It is where conversations can lead to action.”

Rima’s path to UNICEF was shaped by the experiences she gained through the MEPI Tomorrow’s Leaders Program, during her time in Lebanon. Through the program, she was volunteering and taking on leadership opportunities that helped build her professional profile and values. One of the most influential experiences was her work with the Jesuit Refugee Service educational support center in Byblos, where she supported refugee children and learned the importance of empathy, service, and community engagement.

At UNICEF Tunisia, Rima approaches her work with a strong belief in teamwork, respect, and continuous learning. She is especially motivated to bring fresh perspectives into communication strategies. “I want to bring the Gen Z voice into our work,” she explains. “Creative and thoughtful communication can help people connect more deeply with UNICEF’s mission, not only in Tunisia but beyond.”

Today, as a MEPI TLU graduate, Rima carries with her the program’s values of leadership, service, and responsibility. Her journey reflects the power of youth leadership in shaping institutions and influencing positive change.
