Ikram Bichbich Earns OML MENA Funding for Youth-Led Sustainability Initiative
January 23, 2026For Ikram Bichbich, making a difference begins with learning, teamwork, and trusting the power of young people. A MEPI Tomorrow’s Leaders alumna from Algeria from the Class of 2025, Ikram recently reached an important milestone when her youth led project was selected for funding by OML MENA One Million Leaders.
The project focuses on equipping Algerian youth with practical skills to address environmental sustainability and renewable energy challenges. Through training sessions, community based activities, and policy focused discussions, students learn how to turn their ideas into real solutions that respond to pressing environmental needs. The initiative encourages civic responsibility and long term thinking, while motivating young people to take an active role in shaping a greener and more sustainable future.
The project is designed to reach a wide audience, including secondary and university students, community members, youth centers, and local NGOs. By placing young people at the center of environmental action, it brings together education, innovation, and community engagement.
As the project moves into its next phase, Ikram will work alongside her colleague Fella Bouti to bring the initiative to life. Their work highlights how youth leadership, when supported and trusted, can create meaningful and lasting impact across the MENA region.
