February 16, 2024
Farah Younes, a MEPI TLG student from Lebanon and an aspiring economist, embarked on an extraordinary journey that led to her involvement in the launch of the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) during the Knowledge Summit. As a Data Intern at the UNDP Regional HUB, Farah played a pivotal role in gathering and calculating data from international sources for 195 countries.
The GKI, a comprehensive framework developed by the UNDP RBAS and MBRF, measures knowledge-related performance globally. Farah’s contribution to the computation of this index was instrumental in providing valuable insights into sectors such as education, ICT, research, development, and economy.
Attending the Knowledge Summit, Farah had the opportunity to engage with experts, visionaries, and policy leaders who shared ideas on the future of knowledge and development. This experience not only boosted her career prospects but also enriched her personally as an economist.
Reflecting on her participation, Farah says, “Participating in the GKI 2023 launch and the Knowledge Summit had a profound impact on my professional and personal growth. The exposure to cutting-edge solutions and the convergence of local and international expertise expanded my perspective, equipping me with valuable knowledge for future endeavors.”
Farah expresses her gratitude to MEPI Tomorrow’s Leaders Program for the unwavering support in providing opportunities for students to evolve and shine. The MEPI TL program’s commitment to fostering growth has opened doors for individuals like Farah to make significant contributions in their respective fields.
Farah’s experience serves as an inspiration for others to embrace opportunities and make a lasting impact within their chosen paths.
