On June 1, 2024, the LAU MEPI TLS Alumni Advisory Board organized an unprecedented reunion at the Le Royal Hotel in Dbayeh, bringing together around 70 alumni from the different TLS and TLP cohorts who completed the program in the past four years. The event provided a safe space and an opportunity for TL alumni to reconnect, engage, and network, encouraging a sense of bonding and togetherness.

The event included two insightful panel discussions that showcased alumni success stories. The first panel, titled “A Talk with the MEPI TLS Alumni Advisory Board,” was moderated by Ms. Asma Awkal (‘22). The panelists included Ms. Heba El Hallak (’23), Ms. Jana El Jamal (’21), Ms. Reem El Zouheiry (‘23), and Ms. Teya Abou Zour (’22). The panel provided a platform for alumni to share their experiences on the program and insights on advocacy.

The second panel, moderated by Dr. Lina Kreidie, focused on celebrating alumni achievements. Panelists included Mr. Abdo Michel El Hayek (’21), Ms. Farah Salloum (’21), Mr. Hassan Jaber (’21), and Ms. Melissa El Feghali (’21); Ms. Lyne Sammouri (’22) and Ms. Sarah Al Asmar (’22); and Ms. Nour Ammar (’23). The discussion highlighted the accomplishments of alumni from different cohorts, and how the program had significant impact on their lives.

The reunion also had the honor of hosting Mr. Neshan Der Haroutiounian, a renowned Lebanese TV host known for his prime-time shows on various TV stations. Mr. Neshan delivered an engaging speech, sharing his insights on leadership, career success, public speaking, overcoming challenges, and never losing hope. His testimonies and real-life experiences left the audience motivated and encouraged.

In addition, the alumni had the opportunity to engage with ten different institutions through round table discussions. Spotlight Lebanon, Adyan Association, Amideast, SOS Children’s Villages, LAU Innovation Center, The Arab Institute for Women- LAU, Baldati, MISCK, Al Younbouh Center, and Infoquest were among the institutions present. The alumni had the opportunity to go around in groups, learning about the missions, visions, and projects of these organizations. They also explored employment, volunteering, internship, and scholarship opportunities offered by these institutions.

The day concluded with engaging entertainment activities that brought the alumni closer together. By discovering each other’s common interests, the alumni strengthened their connections and sense of community.

The reunion of MEPI TLS Alumni was a definite success and will be planned every year to bring together an exceptional community of changemakers.
