Human Rights Event

In December 2010, Mr. Ghassan Moukheiber, member of the Lebanese Parliament, facilitated a roundtable discussion on human rights. Mr. Mouhkeiber is a prominent lawyer and an avid supporter of the recognition of human rights in Lebanon as legislated in Lebanese laws and through the declaration of human rights. The students presented their experiences with human rights violations and several of them also shared their engagements with NGO’s focused on issues of human rights, such as KAFA. Mr. Moukheiber highlighted the channels that any citizen can use to ensure that he or she is treated rightfully and legally in any circumstances, and invited the students to visit the Lebanese Parliament in April when his study will be presented to members of the parliament.
