Application Evaluation Criteria
In addition to the general admissions requirements, short-listed TLG students will undergo an interview process to assess students’ academic literacy and research potential.
The interview aims to evaluate the following aspects:
-
Academic literacy: Potential candidates may be asked to read an academic paper before the interview and discuss insights.
-
Research interests and knowledge base: Applicants should clarify their research interests and connect them to the approved TLG research proposals in their specific field of study.
-
Connection to specific course content: Applicants may be requested to identify a particular course they are interested in and provide justification for their interest.
-
Research experience: Applicants may need to discuss a written work or research output they have recently completed, and critique its strengths and weaknesses.
-
Leadership potential: At any point in the interview, applicants may need to participate in a debate through a thought experiment to gauge their reasoning process and ethical awareness.
Program Description and Research Focus
Applicants who demonstrate academic excellence should express how they wish to develop their knowledge within one of the five available programs. They should also clarify how they wish to gain substantial advanced practical experience and enhance their capacity to become community or business leaders who contribute on a regional level.
